Nikola Tesla is the face of a silver 1 oz legal tender coin series issued by the National Bank of Serbia since 2018 in honor of their world-famous native. Tesla arrived in the USA in 1884 penniless but rich in ideas.

The collection features a permanent portrait of Tesla on the obverse with an evolving reverse showcasing his inventions, patents and visionary concepts.

The first issue, released in September 2018, exhibited a prototype of his alternating current electric motor. Tesla had a vision of the motor while in a park in Budapest with his friend. He drew the design on the ground with a stick. He stated it was exactly the same as the patent he displayed at a lecture he gave many years later in the United States. The AC technology was proven more efficient than Thomas Edison's existing DC current. Its power and energy transmission over greater distances resulted in many advances in the development of industry and consumer comforts.

The second issue, released in March 2019 commemorates his invention of remote control. Called a "Teleautomaton", Tesla demonstrated his invention to crowds at Madison Square Garden in 1898, mystifying the crowd by controlling the vessel according to their commands. "Remote Control" was one of Tesla's 700+ patents.

The third issue, released in March 2020 displays an X-ray image which Tesla referred to as a "shadowgraph". While conventional history and even Tesla graciously gave Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen credit for the discovery, Tesla's experiments are now understood to have predated his colleague's.

The fourth issue, released in May 2021, features Wardenclyffe Tower "Free Energy", a project Tesla was building as a working prototype to directly harness energy from the earths field. When financier J.P. Morgan and his colleagues realized the threat to their oil and coal franchises, funding was terminated before completion. "Free Energy" 2021!

The fifth issue, released in May 2022, features Tesla's Ozone Generator, "Natural Healing". In September 1896, the electrical genius Nikola Tesla patented his first ozone generator, and in 1900 he formed the Tesla Ozone Co. Tesla sold ozone machines and ozonated olive oil to doctors for medical use. The use of intravenous ozone as a catalyst in healing is coming back as more people turn away from the cut, burn, and poison pharmaceutical medicine in favor of detoxification, natural immune system enhancement and lifestyle improvement. Administration of ozone technology is advancing as physicians and other healing practitioners apply synergies of natural healing. Tesla was the pioneer of ozone generation and technology.

The sixth issue, released in January 2023, features Tesla's understanding of how the universe functions: Energy, Vibration, & Frequency being the expression of life, harmony, and well-being. Tesla believed physics and dimension are best understood by the mathematics of threes. One of his famous quotes: "If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6, and 9, then you would have the key to the universe." Tesla evolved his visions and inventions from this approach.

The seventh issue, released in June 2023, recognizes Tesla's work with anti-gravity technology which led to the diagram accompanying his 1928 patent. Tesla worked for decades on his enabling concepts "The Dynamic Theory of Gravity" and "Environmental Energy" assuming then concluding that a luminiferous ether fills all space, and that it is acted upon by a life-giving creative force. Tesla believed that matter comes from the ether and reverts to the ether when the force subside and motion ceases. He noted that man can harness these processes to precipitate matter from the ether, and create whatever he wants from matter and energy.

The eighth issue, released in December 2023, celebrates one of Nikola Tesla's most important inventions, appropriately named "The Tesla Coil". It is significant because it solved several electrical delivery issues of the time with both safety and efficiency. It takes the output from a 120vAC to a several kilovolt transformer & driver circuit and steps it up to an extremely high voltage. An electrical transformer that uses high-frequency alternating low current, it delivers high voltage that is safe for people to near or even touch the arcs of lightening-like electricity. Nearby electronic devices are powered wireless.

The ninth issue, released in May, 2024, is called "Direct Energy Weapon" and references Tesla's research carried on for many years with the chief object of transmitting electrical energy to great distances. Components of this proposed work included: high vacuum tubes open to the atmosphere; extremely high charged particles; and, a very high powered electro-static generator. Millions of particles would be transmitted with millions of volts of power. The potential for this technology to be used as a defense weapon led to some calling it "The Death Ray."

The tenth issue, released in September, 2024, commemorates Tesla's work on the Niagara Falls "Hydroelectric Power" plant. Tesla's work on this project alone led to nine different patents, including: Electro Magnetic Motor, Electrical Transmission of Power and the Dynamo Electric Machine. When this three year construction effort was completed, it was the first major alternating current facility in the world. At that time, in the late 1890s, steam power was still widely used, and electricity was an emerging technology.

These coins appeal to a wide spectrum of coin collectors, science & technology buffs, Tesla car owners, academia, physicists, electrical and energy professionals, and revisionist historians. He was the first to understand an array of electrical and energy technologies, including many, which others would further develop or take credit for years later.

Tesla's understanding of the greater universe continues to amaze scientists today as they rediscover or apply his concepts and contentions. His belief that almost free energy could be harnessed from the atmosphere alarmed some establishment industrialists and bankers, who organized to discredit, marginalize and defund him.
