Tesla Coins

Nikola Tesla is the face of a silver 1 oz legal tender coin series issued since 2018 by the National Bank of Serbia in honor of their world-famous native. Tesla arrived in the USA in 1884 penniless but rich in ideas.

The collection will feature a permanent portrait of Tesla on the obverse with an evolving reverse showcasing his inventions, patents and visionary concepts.

Design Details

The first issue, released in September 2018, exhibited a prototype of his alternating current electric motor.

The second issue, released in March 2019, commemorates his invention of remote control, or teleautomaton.

The third Issue, released in March 2020 displays an X-ray photograph which Tesla referred to as a shadowgraph.

The fourth issue, released May 2021, showcases Wardenclyffe Tower and Tesla's vision of harnessing the earth's field for free energy.

The fifth issue, released May 2022, showcases Tesla's Ozone Generator and Tesla's belief of natural healing through the power of electrotherapy.

The sixth issue, released in January 2023, presents Telsa's basis for all his discoveries and inventions. He wrote: "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration".

The seventh issue, released in 2023, conveys Tesla's Dynamic theory of anti-gravity.

The eighth issue, released in December 2023, celebrates one of Nikola Tesla's most important inventions, appropriately named "The Tesla Coil".

The ninth issue, released in May 2024, is called "Direct Energy Weapon" and references Nikola Tesla's conceptual designs for teleforce particle beams.

The tenth issue, released in September 2024, memorializes the "Hydroelectric Power" project at Niagara Falls, resulting in nine Tesla patents.




The coins are struck in .999 pure silver and carry a denomination of 100 Dinara.

Issue #1 "Alternating Current" 2018 had a mintage of 35,485 business strikes ("BU") and 3327 Proofs.
Issue #2 "Remote Control" 2019 tallied 20,059 BU and 2090 Proofs.
Issue #3 "X-Rays" 2020 featured 19,812 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #4 "Free Energy" 2021 was finalized at 9,340 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #5 "Ozone Generator" 2022 was finalized at 9008 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #6 "The Secret of the Universe" 2023 was finalized at 9,631 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #7 "Anti-Gravity" 2023 was finalized at 8,258 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #8 "The Tesla Coil" 2023 was finalized at 7,860 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #9 "Direct Energy Weapon" 2024 count was 4,069 BU and 369 Proofs.
Issue #10 "Hydroelectric Power" 2024 minted 5,610 BU and 369 Proofs.

The production of all issues are preceded by 33 brass and 27 copper test strikes. These are submitted in the minting sequence to NGC for authentication and quality grading before presentation to dignitaries, media, and friends of the program.

Each of the first 100 BU and proof coins for every issue have been certified, numbered and graded by NGC in sequential order of striking. These are highly prized and seldom on the market.

Starting in 2023, the program moved from one coin per year to three coins, recognizing Nikola Tesla's concepts of threes and enabling the series to move its way through the hundreds of Teslas inventions, patents and visions.

As the series grows, its collectibility may lead to premium value growth for the early issues, special mintings and limited proofs.
